THE BROKEN HEART FEELS PAIN

BEYOND ETERNITY

The moonlit beach casts its gleam upon the 'now',
with its shoreline glistening in the midnight hour...
and the mesmerizing sea bewitches with its song,
alluring and mystical, 'til the morning comes along...

*~*

Midnight beckons softly to the moon and stars,
and tide slips ashore to see their golden light ~
mirrored against the crystal depths of sea,
kissing the sand with a yearning good night.

And gathering the day, casting it beyond eternity,
the surging waves caress, and hold, the sandy shore.
Grasping the seconds, the minutes, the hours ~
the greedy tide returns, for it craves much more.

'Til dawn peeks above horizon's tinted hue,
the tide moves to retrieve what time has left behind.
Carrying it to depths beyond the realm of vision,
a treasure buried ~ one only the tide can find.

Moments, pressed, into the sands of timeless sea.
Memories, left, for a searching tide to hoard with glee.
Footprints, cast to infinity's edge, settling now unseen,
pondering on the 'then and now' ~ wondering,
if time had ever really 'been'...
